1. About the Portal
The APSU '93 Portal (the Portal) is a private, invitation-only professional network operated by the APSU 1993 Year Group (we, us, our) for alumni of St. Augustine's College, Cape Coast, Ghana, Class of 1993.
By accessing or using the Portal you agree to these Terms of Service (Terms). If you do not agree, you must not use the Portal.
2. Eligibility
Access to the Portal is restricted to alumni of St. Augustine's College, Cape Coast, Ghana, who were enrolled as part of the Class of 1993 (typically entering Form 1 in 1988 and exiting Form 5 in 1993, or as otherwise verified by the association's administrators). Membership is subject to identity verification by an administrator using the association's alumni roster.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Portal. By using the Portal you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements.
3. Your account
- One account per member. Each eligible alumnus may hold one account. Creating duplicate accounts is not permitted.
- Accurate information. You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when registering and maintaining your profile.
- Account security. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Do not share your login details with anyone. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us immediately at help@apsu93.org.
- No transfer. Your account is personal to you and may not be transferred to another person.
4. Your profile and content
You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Portal (profile text, photos, and other materials — collectively Your Content).
By submitting Your Content you grant the APSU 1993 Year Group a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and make Your Content available to other verified members of the Portal for the purposes of operating the membership service. This licence ends when you remove the content or request account deletion.
You are responsible for ensuring that Your Content is accurate, does not infringe any third-party rights, and complies with these Terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Portal to:
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
- Post false, misleading, defamatory, or harmful content about yourself or others.
- Harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate other members.
- Share your login credentials or allow another person to access the Portal through your account.
- Conduct unsolicited commercial solicitation, spam, or multi-level marketing directed at other members without the prior written approval of the association.
- Scrape, copy, export, or otherwise extract member data (including contact details, profile information, or directory listings) for any purpose outside your personal use of the Portal.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any other member's account, the Portal's backend systems, or any connected infrastructure.
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content designed to disrupt, damage, or interfere with the Portal or other members' devices.
- Violate any applicable law or regulation, including data protection laws applicable in your country of residence.
6. Privacy
Your use of the Portal is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the Portal you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
7. Portal availability
We provide the Portal on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Portal will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from technical issues. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain availability and to notify members of planned maintenance via the Portal dashboard.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Portal at any time, with reasonable notice to members where practicable.
8. Intellectual property
All content on the Portal that is not Your Content — including the Portal's design, code, logos, and text — is owned by or licensed to the APSU 1993 Year Group. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our prior written permission.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the APSU 1993 Year Group and its administrators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Portal.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
For UK members: nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK law.
10. Suspension and termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Portal if you breach these Terms, at our reasonable discretion. Where practical we will inform you of the reason and give you an opportunity to respond before a permanent termination.
You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting help@apsu93.org. Account deletion is subject to our data retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
For members resident in the United Kingdom: nothing in this clause limits your rights under UK consumer protection or data protection law, which continue to apply regardless of the governing law clause.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify members of material changes via an announcement on the Portal dashboard at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Portal after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The current version is always available at apsu93.org/terms.
